English: We investigated whether there was a change in usage of Thanks after the feature was made more widely available in early January 2023. This slide deck examines edits made on the Arabic, Bangla, Czech, German, English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese Wikipedia between December 1, 2022 and March 1, 2023. Edits were required to be made by logged in users that were not identified as a bot, and that were not reverted within 48 hours. We measured the proportion of these edits that were thanked in the same time period. The first two graphs show differences by month and suggest that there was no significant impact by the change. The last graph show differences by tenure across the 3-month period, where different languages show different patterns.
