Initiatives?

[edit]

There seems to be some interest in this board so I'm starting an "Initiatives" section that may help focus our energies. Feel free to add items of interest. After a few suggestions are in, say in a couple of weeks, we can choose one or two for a group editing effort. --regentspark (comment) 13:50, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2016 JNU sedition controvery

[edit]

The 2016 JNU sedition controversy, which is getting billed as the Indian Spring of 2016 [1], [2], is I think of wider South Asian significance [3], which needs to be covered. Please participate. - Kautilya3 (talk) 10:09, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For me, anything which can expand the learning of a reader about a subject is worth inclusion regardless of political ramifications. I have noticed that Indian and Pakistani editors alike has made Wikipedia a political battleground instead of a learning portal but that is a sidenote to express that I am quite bothered because of that. Most of the disputes seem to be concerned with the subtle policies of WP:WEIGHT, WP:PRIMARY, WP:NEWSORG, and WP:BIASED. We need to understand these policies thoroughly and enforce them as much as we can. - Kautilya3 (talk) 10:48, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
