- File:Lincoln family tree.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- Tagged {{PD-US}}, which claims that the image is in the public domain in the United States, and the date is given as "1910s". But the dates on this family tree go all the way to 1985, so the image is at most 27 years old, and unlikely to be in the public domain. —Bkell (talk) 00:23, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Makati skyline.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- Uploader claims to be the creator, but gives a source URL to the SkyscraperCity forum [2]. The relevant post in that thread, which contains a larger version of this photo with a watermark reading "chamz_2011", quotes an earlier post [3], which in turn credits the photo to "cyberdude2010" on Flickr. After a bit of poking around on Flickr, I found what may be the original source [4]. It is clear that this Flickr image is at least closer to the original source than either the image uploaded here or the SkyscraperCity post, because it is dated earlier than both of them and it shows a larger view. The Flickr description page says "All Rights Reserved". —Bkell (talk) 01:20, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep Image was created by me using official U.S. Army logo which is owned by the U.S. Govrenment and is therefore in the public domain. It incorporates basic (not stylized) text of the name of a U.S. Army military unit. The entire image was created by me utilizing public doomain elements. It is similiar to the image used on the CBS tv show. CBS can copyrght their tv show, but they can not copyright public domain imagery that they incorporate into their copyrighted tv show. Bulwersator, please stop nominating every single image on Wikipedia for deletion. If you would bother to look at the images and their licensing/sourcing information, you would see that your blanket nomintaions for deletion are unwarranted and a waste of resources. Sf46 (talk) 12:32, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment If this is the emblem of an actual Army unit, the proper template to indicate the usage is {{PD-USGov-Military-Army-USAIOH}}. Note that such images are not in the public domain. Non-commercial use is permitted, but the military retains a copyright to the image and permission for commercial use must be granted. If it is the image only of the fictional unit in the TV show, it seems that the work is unfree.--Lineagegeek (talk) 17:22, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you would bother to look at the images and their licensing/sourcing information, you would see that your blanket nomintaions for deletion are unwarranted and a waste of resources.Sf46 (talk) 12:23, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. No evidence provided that the original work is copyrighted; plenty of evidence provided that the original work is in the public domain. —C.Fred (talk) 16:30, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep but Amend Emblems of USAF organizations are not the work of USAF airmen. They are created by The Institute of Heraldry. Thr proper template to indicate the usage is {{PD-USGov-Military-Army-USAIOH}}. Note that they are not in the public domain. Non-commercial use is permitted, but the military retains a copyright to the image and permission for commercial use must be granted.--Lineagegeek (talk) 17:15, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment it's a Wikipedia Barnstar, and the Rhodesia flag is on Commons, plus it looks like the normal barnstar, also on Commons, attached to the flag of Rhodesia... so obviously a user created image ; where's the problem? -- 76.65.131.248 (talk) 07:55, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Ops. I thought that "Rhodesian Barnstar of National Merit" is serious award. Sorry. Bulwersator (talk) 08:15, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep Information and license tags updated. Image is in public domain because work done by uploader has been released to public domain, part of the image was created by the US Department of Commerce, and due to the age of the public map which was created prior to 1964. - Keep Same as the USCT Statue. This photograph was taken by me (as stated in the source info) at Vicksburg National Battelfield which is owned by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government owns the plaque which automatically makes the plaque public domain. I only own the photograph that I took of this public domain plaque. I have already released my rights to the photo that I took into the public domain. Bulwersator, please stop nominating every single image on Wikipedia for deletion. If you would bother to look at the images and their licensing/sourcing information, you would see that your blanket nomintaions for deletion are unwarranted and a waste of resources.
- "The U.S. Government owns the plaque which automatically makes the plaque public domain" - untrue (works by federal government are automatic PD) + not mentioned in file description Bulwersator (talk) 12:21, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The "original work" in question is the photograph, not the statue: a photograph of a 3D work of art is a separate work that may be copyrighted (see Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright). I'm closing this nomination; the work is clearly free. —C.Fred (talk) 16:41, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
