[edit]
  • I copyedited the plot section to "The film is based around high school senior Devin Overstreet who is having a hard time writing his Valedictorian speech, when it becomes clear that all his academic success has left him with no real-life experiences of high school life. Soon he befriends the oldest student on campus, Mac Johnson. Mac, a 15-year senior, player and heavy marijuana user, is simultaneously smitten by the school's new substitute chemistry teacher Ms. Huck. He soon realizes that the only way he will have a chance with her is if he finally graduates high school. In three weeks time, Mac must shove four years of high school education, while Devin must cram four years of teenage experience into the short time they have. During the process they become best friends, Devin smokes marijuana and has sex for the first time and they both reach their end goals." before Moonriddengirl reverted my changes. This edited version I have just quoted is not a copyright violation of the link he/she provided at all. STATic message me! 03:42, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Considering that your copyedit seems not only derivative of but still includes text copied verbatim from the original, I would disagree. However, since you would obviously like a second opinion, I'll ask another administrator to review this. User:MER-C, would you have time? If not, I can ping somebody else. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:08, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yep, that's still unacceptable. Please write a plot summary from scratch after watching the movie (you can leave this part to someone else). MER-C 05:07, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • One way of avoiding this is to read one, or preferably more, plot descriptions, then, without looking at them, write your own. When you have finished check for correctness, and accidentally copied phrases. This may not work if you have a very good textual memory.
