The result was keep. With no prejudice against merging following some discussion. Some indication that a merger is preferred over a standalone article below. Protonk (talk) 03:35, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This person has not done anything on his own yet. Being a descendant of a notable person does not make one notable. ArcAngel (talk) 19:21, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I will wait to decide, but I am leaning towards delete. I have no doubt he will be notable, but he isn't yet. He hasn't done anything notable in FCW and basically done nothing in WWE (he interfered in the SummerSlam match and appeared in a couple of backstage segments on this weeks Raw). Just because part of a notable wrestling family isn't enough as notability is not inherited. TJ Spyke 19:30, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep –As stated in notability for athelets “…People who have competed at the fully professional level of a sport, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming, golf or tennis” meet our standards for inclusion here at Wikipedia. Since Mr. DiBiase has met that standard, he should be included. Thanks. ShoesssS Talk 19:48, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Just telling you guys that I'm adding refs and writing a little on the page. --Wrestling-fantic (talk) 20:02, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete not notable yet, wait until he does more than train with FCW. Darrenhusted (talk) 20:09, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: Note, the guidelines for notability for athletes do not put caveats on the inclusion criteria for an athlete. Such as MVP or All Star , only that the individual has competed at the professional level. Thanks. ShoesssS Talk 20:22, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- He has yet to COMPETE the professional level. Even if FCW were considered more than a minor league promotion (which it isn't), he has to compete. TJ Spyke 22:02, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - Pro Wrestling Insider staes he is a professional, and Impact Wrestling News - Aug 16, 2009 , as shown here [[1]]. Who is right, them or you? Thanks ShoesssS Talk 23:24, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Because a magazine states such doesn't mean a person is a professional. It has been demonstrated that DiBiase fails WP:ATHLETE as he has not competed in the "top" level of his profession. The second point is that he has YET to do anything of note. ArcAngel (talk) 02:31, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- So far he has appeared on WWE TV twice and is under contract to them, and was just sent to FCW. He has worked at the top level. He hasn't wrestled on tv, but if a person must wrestle, then we must delete alot of managers, interviewers, valets, and even some divas like Kelly Kelly (if you call that wrestling then being sober may help you).--WillC 02:40, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Just being employed by them is NOT considerd working at the top level. For example, articles on baseball players who sign with MLB teams are not consider to have passed ATHLETE until they play their first game. Even if you think wrestlers should be under ATHLETE, he fails that as he has yet to wrestle a match at the top level of his sport. Right now he is no different than a minor league athlete. - Comment. While Brett will PROBABLY be notable eventually, I fail to see how anyone can think he is notable now. Two minor appearances on WWE TV and no actual accomplishments in wrestling does not make someone notable. He fails ATHLETE and even fails the general Notability guidelines. In the future he may warrant an article, but not yet. TJ Spyke 14:21, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, fails WP:ATHLETE. He hasn't competed at the top level of his sport; in fact he is still in training (equivalent to the minor league comment above). He may or may not ever appear or do something of note in FCW or on WWE TV (WP:CRYSTAL). His only notability at present is his interference at SummerSlam, which is already covered at SummerSlam (2009) and Legacy (professional wrestling). See WP:ONEVENT. - Merge with the Legacy article for now, as that is his only notable involvement in WWE. That way we can also keep whatever information that is needed for a future article should Brett gain notability in his own right. !! Justa Punk !! 05:20, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge, per above. Since professional wrestling is not a sports WP:ATHLETE does not apply, and there's not enough significant, non-trivial coverage to pass WP:BIO. --aktsu (t / c) 10:17, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge or userfy at the least. This is like a baseball player who's a star at the Triple A level. He may not be notable just yet, but there is every impending likelihood that he will be soon. Simple deletion is unsuitable, at least for now. I agree that WP:ATHLETE is unsuitable; the wrestling project would do well to come up with its own notability guidelines and propose them for inclusion in Wikipedia:Notability (people) (WP:WRESTLER would be no less unreasonable to have than WP:PORNBIO).
