Wamuran Basin is a rural locality in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2021 census, Wamuran Basin had a population of 199 people.[1]
History
[edit]The locality takes its name from a local Aboriginal man, Menvil Wamuran (also known as Jacky Delaney).[2]
Basin State School opened on 2 March 1920. It closed on 1957.[3] It was unofficially known as Wamuran Basin State School.[4]
Demographics
[edit]In the 2016 census, Wamuran Basin had a population of 130 people.[5]
In the 2021 census, Wamuran Basin had a population of 199 people.[1]
