Welcome!

Hello, PreHistorian, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

You may want to read Wikipedia:Verifiability and WP:NOR as they both relate to your Me Og article. --Bachrach44 03:23, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since you asked nicely (and since you already deleted the call for speedy deletion), I'll hold off an on the speedy deletion. However (and this is the big however) you are going to have to prove that the article is verifiable, especially as it looks like someone else has decided to put the article up for a deletion discussion. (Note that the duscussion will last for 7 days, so you have some time, and it is a discussion, not a straight up vote). As I mentioned above, check out Wikipedia:Verifiability, because that's the majot hurdle you're going to have to cross to convince us all this is real. --Bachrach44 03:29, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi -- I don't believe a word of it, sorry. You're going to have to start providing citations pretty quick -- surely you have links to published papers. Any one of these discoveries -- cave painting alphabets, bone math -- would be groundbreaking, and I've never heard anything about any of them. If you have citations, start putting them on the Talk page; otherwise, just let it go to WP:BJAODN and we'll be done with it. bikeable (talk) 03:50, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've tagged the alternate spelling as nonsense too. Seriously, it sounds like you have a lot to contribute, but we really can't accept unverifiable material. Melchoir 09:53, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for contacting me. I suspect that many new contributors to Wikipedia are under the impression that they should confine themselves to articles of their own to gain experience. Quite to the contrary, we encourage you to edit as many articles as you can! If you have verifiable material to add to, for example, Cave painting, by all means go ahead. If you're not sure which articles might welcome information on a given topic, you can always ask me. Melchoir 10:27, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
