"Montauk Monster"

[edit]

Please rename your photo of the Montauk Monster. It says Rhode Island. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.4.162.83 (talk) 14:03, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I never chose the name, the pic was already there. I just reuploaded a new version. And I can't rename files, I'm not an admin. But I guess you'll never read this. Klow (talk) 14:31, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"deleting all fan sites" on the Tomb Raider page

[edit]

Hey, you deleted all the fansites, but Tomb Raider Chronicles is also a fan site, so why did you keep it? One can keep fan sites links if they're relevant, so deleting all of them except one is quite weird. Klow 23:36, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, fan sites are general not considered encyclopaedic, since they can have a wide variety of bias. Thats the main reason why I deleted all of them. If I missed one, I'm sorry. Disinclination 23:40, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tnp-logo.png. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Tnp-logo.PNG. The copy called Image:Tnp-logo.PNG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 13:17, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Revisioned_TR_logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Revisioned_TR_logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 21:58, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Dracula Year Zero

[edit]

Hey, thanks for contacting me. I redirected Dracula Year Zero to Alex Proyas because the project was only announced. Per notability guidelines for films, a future film should only have an article created when there is notable production underway. Since the film was only announced at this point, it's not certain that it will be produced and thus warrant its own article. I suggest you make a section at Alex Proyas about the film, like what you can see at Neil Marshall. If the film begins production, the film article can be recreated and the content moved to it. I hope that makes sense; this is usually the norm for projects that may stall at any time. Take a look at Spider-Man film series#Future, X-Men film series#Future, and Jurassic Park franchise#Future for examples of where announced film information reside before production begins. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 18:00, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Cast-flint.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cast-flint.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tnp-logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tnp-logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:26, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Dylansawiii.PNG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dylansawiii.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Reddit Mr. Splashy Pants.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 18:18, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wonderful Christmastime‎

[edit]

I have no opinion on the name of the Wonderful Christmastime‎ article. BUT... to rename an article you have to move it. By simply copying the the contents from one article to another, you get a result that looks right, but the edit history for the article is lost. That's not good. In the case where an article has moved and you want to move it back you often have to get an admin involved, and I think that's the case here. So... you should contact an admin and ask him to undo what you did, then redo the move using the Move command. — John Cardinal (talk) 17:49, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Wonderful Christmastime‎" already existed and redirected to "Wonderful Christmas Time‎". Otherwise I would have make a proper redirect, obviously. Klow (talk) 18:37, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's the point... because it already existed due to a previous move, you have to effectively undo that move. The way you did it, the page history is lost. Seek out an admin who can do it properly. — John Cardinal (talk) 19:01, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Klow (talk) 22:02, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You haven't taken any action on this as far as I can see. Now there has been an intervening edit, which makes things harder. If you want to get it fixed, I learned there is a page to request help: Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. I'm not going to do it for you. If you can't be bothered, neither can I. — John Cardinal (talk) 03:39, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your improvement to the montages for the Stanley Kubrick article I created. While I can easily see how you improved the montages on 2001 (omit margins) and CRM (picture alignment), I can't really see what is changed in the montage on the Kubrick stare? License tagging for File:Halcyondigest.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Halcyondigest.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:06, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see you contributed a clearer image than the one that had previously been uploaded there. What's the origin of your image? Did you take the screenshot yourself (and use better settings than the previous editor did), or download it from somewhere, or did you retouch the original yourself to clean it up? DMacks (talk) 17:18, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that's old. Actually I don't know, I'm just sure I didn't use your image, which is unretouchable, hence me reuploading a new version. I have two versions in my files, a mov that doesn't seem to be the source, and an awful flv that likely comes from YouTube. Try to look at archive.org, it may come from there. I'd check but this instant I don't have time for this. That was just too long ago for me... It may also come from YouTube, but you always have to download the file before taking the screenshot, because YT enlarges videos that have a lower resolution than that of the player, hence making them a bit blurry. Hello. As a French-speaking WikiGnome, I'd like to solicit your help in testing a new tool. For a few years now, the Red Link Recovery Project has been using the Red Link Recovery Live tool to track down and fix unnecessarily red links in articles. Recently, the tool has been expanded to work on non-English Wikipedias. A small set of suggested fixes for red-links on the French-language Wikipedia have been prepared and I'm hoping to interest some French-language speakers (such as yourself) to work through them.

If you are interested, please visit http://toolserver.org/~tb/RLRL/quick.php?lang=fr. Each time you refresh the page you'll be presented with three new suggested fixes. I'll be happy to answer any questions on the tools talk page. - TB (talk) 17:58, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Fool's Gold album 2009.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Fool's Gold album 2009.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Modjoalbumcover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Modjo modjo front.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:42, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No. Mine is the original. Often sites have an album cover with more or less contrast, probably as a result of how they extracted it, i.e. scan, photo, etc. But my point is the one I originally uploaded is the most accurate. Dan56 (talk) 21:36, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Winamp logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Winamp logo.png.

--ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:06, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

new Dante DMC

[edit]

It would be nice if you would replace the image of the original dante of the new dmc that you have here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:DMCNewDante.jpg

with the new dante like this one that has replaced him in the game

http://sgcafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/new_dante-500x281.jpg

there are many people who see this face that was on the original trailer and don't know that it has changed so they won't play the game

thanks anyway — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mantza (talkcontribs)

Well, why don't you do it? And don't forget to sign your comments! Klow (talk) 00:34, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
