I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome! However, I've reverted your latest entry to the Conservative Party because it really isn't significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia. Sources for medical articles

[edit]

Hello and thanks for your additions to several articles on musculoskeletal problems. Could I make two recommendations that will hopefully be useful in future edits? Firstly, try not to address your reader in second person; it might be that the reader is not suffering from the condition under discussion and it would therefore be strange to be addressed in person or to be advised to do certain things. Secondly, could I suggest you have a look at WP:MEDRS, a guideline on sources for medical articles? This will hopefully help you identify the best sources for your medical contributions. Let me know if you need a hand. Cheers. JFW | T@lk 12:50, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of copyrighted material to Mental disorder

[edit]

Your recent addition to Mental disorder has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. The source article from WebMD is a good one and I have incorporated some of the material, but you must not directly copy text from somewhere else. Instead, summarize its main points. In a few cases it is appropriate to include text directly from another source, but then it must be clearly indicated with quotation marks. - 2/0 (cont.) 17:52, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Further examples of text included directly from a source include: this edit included text from this source; this edit included text from this source; this edit included text from this source; this edit included text from this source; this edit included text from this source; this edit included text from this source; this edit included text from this source; and this edit included text from this source.
You seem to understand the importance of citing sources, which means a great deal, but please remember to avoid directly copying text from somewhere else. This interferes with Wikipedia's mission to be a free-content encyclopedia, and robs content-creators of their due. I believe that all instances have been fixed now, but please double check your contributions yourself and be more careful in the future. Happy editing, - 2/0 (cont.) 20:00, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This edit again adds material copied directly from another source. Please refrain from making such edits or you will be blocked from editing. Please respond here or on my talkpage if you have any questions or I can help in any way. Regards, - 2/0 (cont.) 20:47, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for these comments. I am inexperienced on Wikipedia and did not even know that I had a user talk page until just now. I also was not aware of the copyright issues which you pointed out to me. Thank you very much for letting me know, and I will try to be very careful in the future to avoid any copyright problems.Jenday (talk) 22:40, 30 September 2009 (UTC

Please provide proper sourcing for your edits

[edit]

I just undid your edits to Accupuncture and Coffee and health because they weren't properly sourced. When you edit health related articles please back up your edits by reliable sources that comply with WP:MEDRS. To avoid copyright problems please don't just copy and paste sentences or paragraphs of a source but paraphrase what it says instead. If you have questions I'll be glad to help. --Six words (talk) 21:15, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Generation Articles

[edit]

Jenday: I noticed, and agree with, your edits about the differences between demographics and psychographics in the context of generations. Because of your understanding and interest in this topic, I thought you might be interested in knowing about recent edits on Wikipedia concerning Generation Jones. Over the last few months, a couple of Wikipedia users have gone to great lengths to try to minimize the presence of GenJones on Wikipedia. I am now back on the site and will carefully help to maintain an accurate representation of GenJones for Wikipedia readers. I message you to ask you, if you are interested, to please also try to keep an eye on the generation article pages to make whatever edits you feel would be helpful in representing these topics accurately to Wikipedia readers. Thanks.TreadingWater (talk) 23:58, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If I edited incorrectly here, I very much apologize. I didn’t realize that there could be an issue of copyright violation even where I didn’t list a reference. I thought I had paraphrased enough to where there would be no copyright issue, but perhaps I goofed up. Thanks for mentioning this, and I’ll be super careful in the future to not make any edits that could in any way possibly involve any copyright violation. I’m new here on Wikipedia, but an eager learner, and I appreciate any mistakes I make pointed out to me so I can avoid making them in the future.Jenday (talk) 17:52, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. OhNoitsJamie Talk 23:59, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

O.K. I didn't realize that by adding the word "unfortunately" that it would constitute "commentary", but upon reflection I can see your point. I am new on wikipedia, and am trying as quickly as I can to learn wikipedia policies. Thank you for pointing this out to me.Jenday (talk) 00:29, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
