A few pointers
[edit]Hi there, I see you are new to Wikipedia. Just a few pointers on the page about Alessandro Zarrelli. His relationship status and how he was percieved by women in Scotland is irrelevant to article's guidelines. If he was involved with another notable woman and there was a source then I could understand. Also Facebook or Twitter can't be used as sources or reference points. Also don't remove sourced sentences from the page, as moderators will just removed your editing abilities. Try and give a valid source to every statement you want to include as one's that don't will end up being removed by other users. I know this page is controversial, and I know some people regard him as a minor cult hero, but we have to include all the details we can, so removing them won't stand. One last thing you removed the word "fool" saying it was insulting the player, when in reality if you fool someone (like Zarrelli did), you are tricking them. So you see misunderstood. You seem to know a lot of Zarrelli and have uncovered a lot that the rest of us didn't know, so if there is more you can add, please be my guest. - Thats all said and done, we can only go off what sources we have. Now I have restored the previous article because the article is in perfect condition, now it comes to my attention you have been removing bits of the article again. Zarrelli, convicted or not was a confidence trickster, you know thats as obvious and as a fair as possible, its not insulting to the guy and it's deemed as defamatory, especially when he is one, and what he did was con clubs, whether or not charges were brought or not, or if he didn't do it for the money. But him and Ali Dia, even as some would say innocently did, they are still confidence tricksters, and removing this as well as other things on the article will only get reverted. Now you say your a journalist? right okay, none of what you have said is backed up by any media source, so what your saying maybe false. For all I know, you may not be a journalist, and even so regardless of any of our professions, we can only go off what is in front of us and what was provided by the infomation of that show. Right I will list a couple of things, that shouldn't be changed. Like I said, I have reverted your edits because the article was perfectly fine how it is.
- You keep removing confidence trickster, when he is notably known for being one, more than he is known for playing football. Like I said despite no Police involvment, what he did makes him a confidence trickster, its not trying to insult the man or belittle him, he did what he did and what he did makes him one, whether me, you or Zarrelli agrees or disagrees with it.
- He was a youth player at Asti and had left, which makes him an amateur footballer, as he wasn't a professional and hadn't signed for Asti's first team
- Sheffield Wednesday had never heard of Zarrelli, sources and the actual TV show back that up, you changed it to them saying they had him on trial but didn't sign him, when in theory on the show the guy says that Wednesday didn't know who he was.
- Relationship status, as we have discussed is irrelevant to the article unless he is linked with someone famous.
- Facebook, Twitter and other social media sources aren't reliable links
- Changing infomation that has already been sourced will get reverted automatically and continuing to change this may see your editing abilities blocked.
- No youth team player in the world are counted as semi-pro regardless of whether or not they collect a small wage, if he was at ASTI youth he would have been an amateur as your an academy player.
- Lets try to remember that Zarrelli being a confidence trickster is the only reason why this page is notable for Wikipedia, as by Wikipedia guidelines of notability, he would have had to have played in a fully professional league (Northern Irish Premier isn't fully pro), so if Zarrelli hadn't have done what he did he wouldn't have been notable for an article. So saying what he is known for in the UK is the main catch of the article. Many people, including myself until a couple of weeks ago didn't even know he played semi-pro football, so fair play and thanks for finding us new infomation on the player, but as for reverting any of the rest please leave the article as it is.
If you can find any more sources and links to help the article grow, then be my guest. If you notice he signs for a new club then please add it, or any other infomation then please add it. But remember you must add a link to the online source where you see this infomation, else it will just get removed by me or someone else. As for the rest of the article, how it is now it need not change, there is nothing wrong with how it as the moment, so please build upon that, don't change it or dumb it down please. - Again, there isn't much more I can tell you. The whole show and sources back up that Zarrelli didn't leave Asti to go to Lisburn, he sent them fake faxes ahead of travelling there and managed to con them into signing him. Zarrelli at the time only became a semi-pro footballer upon signing for Lisburn, prior to that he was a just a youngster who was on the youth books of a professional team. The show back's this up, as do the sources. Zarrelli conned Lisburn into signing him, but failed to fool Bangor and Connah's Quay. And as well there is no evidence what so ever to back up Zarrelli ever being at Wednesday on trial or in any capacity, but there are sources and a television show to back up Wednesday had never heard of him, and due to that fact that part remains. As I said Zarrelli is made notable for being a confidence trickster, if your really a journalist which at the moment I am finding very hard to believe then surely you would know that what he did makes him a confidence trickster, regardless of Police action or not. You mention the BBC, we have a BBC source in there, in fact we have all there sources we can on Zarrelli, they maybe 10 years old but it dosen't make the incorrect, everything in that article is backed up by a source, if you can find a link new sources that back up your claims then please do, but until that point simply altering things that are backed up will be reverted. There is nothing defamtory about calling him a confidence trickster, I don't understand why you can't grasp this. What he did, makes him one, regardless of the fact he isn't a criminal, or the fact that now he is a seemingly respectable and honest member of the footballing community. I can't really spell it out to you anymore, you must adhere to the sources and stop changing statements that are backed up else you will end up being blocked from editing. Once again I can understand the term condifence trickster is a touchy term but the fact of the matter is, Zarrelli was one whether he gained any financial doing or not, and whether or not the police were involved. You don't have to be a criminal to be one. Please stop with the disruptive edits, I am grateful for your further insight when adding to the article, but please stop altering perfectly good sourced parts of it. Zarrelli again
[edit]Hi, although I have no problems at the current updates you are doing to the career section and stats, I have had to revert several of your edits because you keep changing the name of "Lincoln Moorlands Railway" to "Lincoln Moorlands". Now, I live in Lincolnshire myself so I know that the club are still refered to by fans as "Moorlands" but in theory "Lincoln Moorlands" don't exist anymore, the club disbanded when it formed with "Lincoln Railway", so the infobox needs to say "Lincoln Moorlands Railway" as that is the name of the club. Zarrelli
[edit]Please refrain from removing certain parts of this article. He is barely notable enough for an article as it is without removing the one thing he is notable for which is being a confidence trickster. If he hadn't done what he did there would be no article. Also please stop adding false information to the controversy section. The documentary was pretty straight forward in its conception that he was a con man nobody had heard of. No where in that documentary does it state that anybody acknowledged he was actually at Sheffield Wednesday or Rangers etc. Continue to add false info could see your editing rights revoked. - Its clear to me from the message you've posted on my talk page that you probably are Zarrelli himself. In this case I will remind you that you or Zarrelli are only notable for the documentary, not football. You have not played a game in a fully professional league so if it wasn't for the documentary you would not be featured on this website. It's clear this page has become farcical because a lot of what you say is heavily unsourced. Unless you can back it up with an online source then it will be removed. The controversy section is about the Documentary and nothing more, I've reworded this as 'Documentary' to make this more clear to you or others when editing. I will speak with other editors about the term 'confidence trickster', but agree maybe we should remove that word until we get some kind of clarification. In honest terms though what you did, whether it was punished or not made you a confidence trickster, you don't have to be taken to be prosecuted to earn that tag. You need to remember when editing this page, you are editing an article that is only notable because of that documentary. Essentially the brunt of it is that's the only reason you are relevant to this site. I've played Non-League football but I'm not relevant enough and neither would a player who could've played 400 odd games in the National League for Forest Green but you still wouldn't be notable. Nobody is slandering you / Zarrelli and nobody is creating an article to stir up hatred or false information but at the end of the day what has been found out since then is completely irrelevant to the article UNLESS you can back it up with a source on the Internet, and in that case feel free to add the source Footballgy (talk) 04:03, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
