{{helpme}} I'm a newbie to Wikipedia, still learning so I'm not comfortable with posting on discussion boards - The top of the page with the generic information on Carbon Capture and storage - you have a graphic there but I have a video that we would like to offer, do I have to upload that to YouTube before I can offer it here, plus who is the administrator that would have access to that? I work for the Alberta Government and we researched globally for a simple video to explain the process, when we couldn't locate one - we built it. We link the videos on our page that is already a link in the posting -http://www.energy.alberta.ca/Initiatives/1438.asp Sorry if these questions are totally lame. Lynn McIntosh Web Coordinator Alberta Energy Edmonton, Alberta <Phone number removed> - your response sometime next week would be awesome! Thanks in advance for your help.

I've removed the phone number you gave, more to protect you from potential harassment (since Wikipedia is a very well-known site) than anything else. As to your question, Wikipedia can accept videos, provided that the video is in .ogg format (otherwise the video will need to be uploaded to YouTube and added as an external link in the article) and passes all the requirements. Please also read over our policies on copyrights as regards Wikipedia.
I would also heavily advise you and everyone else behind this account to register individual accounts. Per the GNU Free Document License we are obligated to restrict one person to each account. -Jeremy (v^_^v Cardmaker) 17:32, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I do have our video loaded to YouTube, I was hoping to show a thumbnail that people could click through, I've been through the tutorials but I can't seem to find anything on that. I also tried to peak at an example (on the YouTube meaning page, but I couldn't see it). Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Alberta, for video and picture questions involving wikipedia, you may want to submit a query on our sister project WikiMedia Commons [1]  IShadowed  ✰  18:25, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We don't support thumbnail-linking to YouTube videos, but if you own the copyright (as Jeremy detailed above) or it is free content, you may upload it to Wikipedia. How long is the video, if I may ask? And what does it portray, exactly? m.o.p 18:21, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
