- Ok thanks. I will try to leave informative edit summaries as I go. Hopefully we are on the same or similar pages. Will ping @BlueMoonset: as she has even more institutional knowledge than me and I think will be interested. There is a bit of technical stuff to work out and depending on how other discussions close maybe more changes need to be done here. Still thanks for making a start. - Finished making edits for now. See what you think. The process will depend on how we implement the merger. Hopefully we wont have to explain which links to check. When I get some more time I can look at the templates, but we will have to get someone with a bit more technical prowness most likely. BTW thanks for stepping up and closing. - Aircorn, AirshipJungleman29, I read up on the proposal in sandbox4, and snagged on number 2 in the instructions on reassessment. Why, if we're eliminating the individual reassessment, are we even leaving it as a possibility that people must be told not to click on? Some invariably will anyway. The {{GAR}} template, or rather, the {{GAR/link}} that is created when GAR is subst-ed, should be modified so that only the GARpage parameter is shown (the page parameter should be removed entirely), and only a community reassessment and link to open it is offered in the resulting box. This will orphan some subtemplates like {{GAR/preload1}} and its subtemplates {{GAR/editintro1}} and {{GAR/subst}}, which have to do with the individual reassessment text displays; the preload1 is called by {{GAR/linktext}}, which is called from GAR/link. Do we have someone ready (and able) to edit and test the templates in the GAR and GAR/link family as necessary to eliminate the individual reassessment displays in active GARs, while being sure not to orphan any past individual reassessment displays? (It may be that the key is to disable the GAR/link displays, but allow them elsewhere for past individual results.) If not, then we shouldn't proceed until we do. Can we just remove the individual aspect do everything ends up on the GAR page? Maybe should wait until the discussion on showing GARs and GANs is closed first Aircorn (talk) 00:03, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
