Equatorial Africa is a pavilion that was scheduled to be built at the EPCOT Center theme park, at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Author Alex Haley was directly involved in the planning of six attractions. Disney purchased a significant collection of African art from real estate developer Paul Tishman and his wife Ruth, in 1984. Loaned out to museums in the intermediary years, the collection was donated to the National Museum of African Art in 2005.
