I grabbed the 1st paragraph of the article on the last day of each month, starting with Dec. 31, 2008. Did 2 years of that, then 1 year of every 3d month, and then every 500 edits, then the 1st edit of the article.
I found 1 short period where the word "lay" was an adjective in front of 'philosopher' - that was a short battle of about a week, and then it went back to philosopher with no adjective.
I found one period of time, not too long, where she was referred to as an author who had created the philosophy of Objectivism.
Early on she was referred to as an American philosopher or a controversial American philosopher.
Everywhere else I sampled she was "philosopher" and no qualifications or adjectives. There is no history of a lasting consensus for anything but philosopher with no qualifications.

Ayn Rand (February 2, 1905–March 6, 1982; first name pronounced (IPA) /aɪn/ (rhymes with 'mine')), born Alissa Zinovievna Rosenbaum, was best known for her philosophy of Objectivism and her novels We the Living, Anthem, The Fountainhead, and Atlas Shrugged. Her philosophy and her fiction both emphasize, above all, her concepts of individualism, rational egoism ("rational self-interest"), and capitalism. Believing government has a legitimate but relatively minimal role in a free society, she was not an anarchist, but a minarchist (though she did not use the term). Her novels were based upon the projection of the Randian hero, a man whose ability and independence causes conflict with the masses, but who perseveres nevertheless to achieve his values. Rand viewed this hero as the ideal and made it the express goal of her literature to showcase such heroes. She believed:
That man must choose his values and actions by reason; That the individual has a right to exist for his own sake, neither sacrificing self to others nor others to self; and That no one has the right to seek values from others by physical force, or impose ideas on others by physical force.

Ayn Rand (1905-1982) was a popular and controversial American philosopher and novelist. She was born Alyssa (or Alice) Rosenbaum in St. Petersburg, Russia, on February 2, 1905. She studied philosophy and history at the University of Petrograd. In 1925, she was permitted by the Soviet government to leave the USSR briefly to visit her relatives in America. Although she was only allowed a brief visit, she was resolute never to return to Russia. When she arrived in America, at the age of 21, she stayed with relatives in Chicago for 6 months before moving to Hollywood to become a screenwriter. She changed her name to Ayn Rand because she realized that, if her anti-socialist views became famous in America, her family may have been persecuted by the government.
