History
[edit]Blaq Rebel, started as a record label in 2009 by J.Word Audio when he was in high school. Recordings took place in his bedroom with friends who were also interested in music.
Influenced by various local and international artists from a tender age, these group of friends held a desire to put their feelings, thoughts, hardships, ambitions into lyrical expressions with a “dope” beat.
Lyreeq decided that BR needed better representation and their own platform to shine. The idea gave birth to BRO.
Blaq Rebel Media Studios (BRMS)
[edit]BRMS is the sound and visual division of BRO, which focuses on:
BRMS gives artist recording time and space at affordable prices.
Spreadin the Flu (Flu) is a sub-division of BRMS. It is a joint venture between J.Word Audio and L-Tune ‘Chillin’ which involves all things, “electronic music”.
The BRMS photography/videography studio is located in our backyard.
BRMS offers beautiful quality images/videos of self, family and friends at affordable prices.
Whether in studio or onsite, BRMS has the lenses to go wild.

Blaq Rebel Entertainment (BREnT)
[edit]Blaq Rebel Ent (BREnt) is the entertainment division of BRO.
BREnt is a platform for Blaq members to show case their works and talent. All BREnt events will have BR members as the headliners.
BREnt coordinates Blaq Rebel events which includes :
- Live Performances
- Party Events
- Collaborations
- Fashion Shows
- Dance Events etc
BREnt events feature guest Dj’s and other artist performances.
Blaq (BQ)
[edit]BQ is the clothing and merchandise division of BRO. The division offers a range of lines:
Casual Funk etc.
The division is managed by Blaq Rebel Corps directors and offers members an opportunity to establish their own range and showoff their creativity through the BR brand.

[edit]J. Word Audio also known as Nino, started Blaq Rebel.
As a “self taught” music producer, he spent hours teaching himself how to use various music software and sound equipment. He also learnt other skills that can now acclaim him as a:

He is Co-founder of “Spreadin the Flu”

[edit]L-Tune ‘Chillin’ also known as Alex, is a partner of BRO.
A lost boy in high school, started making music at the age of 15. He eventually met J.Word Audio at Serr’s house and became friends. He partnered with J.Word Audio and became a partner of BR. Together, they worked to build the Blaq Rebel Media Studios as we know it today.
He is the youngest partner of BRO, but proves to be the driving force behind making “money moves”.
He is Co-founder of “Spreadin the Flu”.
BREnt Managing Director (BMD)
[edit]Serr, is a partner of BRO and brand representative.
A long time friend of J.Word Audio and Lyreeq. Serr met L-Tune ‘Chillin’ when he was still in high school.
She was present in the early days of Blaq Rebel. Earlier recordings may feature giggling-that’s probably her!
A creative by nature with an ear for good music, she helps keep the brand a “glow.”

Blaq Rebel Creative
[edit]The Situation aka Sitch, was born and raised in the golden city of Jozi. He has been rapping from the tender age of 10 and was part of a rapping group called South Coast Mafia. He quickly established himself as an outstanding rapper for his age. His diverse style allowed him to rap over any beat at any given moment, which was unique for a young man. The level of artistry he displayed were beyond his years and he has continued to hone his skills over the years.
His influences have been rappers such as:
J Cole &
He describes his music style as “urban rap music”.
As he continues to reach for the stars, he would some day like to be acclaimed as one of the greatest rappers of Mzansi.
