Summer Townsend is a fictional character from Days of Our Lives, an American soap opera on the NBC network. Created by the then-head writing team of Josh Griffith and Dena Higley, and introduced by executive producers Ken Corday, Greg Meng and Albert Alarr, the role of Summer is portrayed by actress Marie Wilson, who made her first appearance on February 5, 2016.

Storylines

In January 2016, Brady Black (Martsolf) begins to experience dreams of a mysterious woman on a beach in Los Angeles, as a result of receiving Dr. Daniel Jonas' heart. Upon seeing her face, Brady stumbles upon the name Summer while looking through Daniel's personal files. In an attempt to find out why he's been dreaming of Summer, Brady travels to California and finds Summer on a beach, where she attempts suicide by form of drowning. When she is rescued by Brady and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), she agrees to talk to Brady, and confesses that she and Daniel found comfort within each other, and that Daniel believed them to be siblings. She revealed to Brady that she was adopted, much like Daniel, and grew up in the Bible belt of Texas. Brady then invites Summer to come back to Salem with him, with the belief that she could be the long-lost daughter of Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers).
