[1]

Overview

[edit]

LiquidSky’s platform is an open one, allowing users to upload any program (whether a game or not), and run them on LiquidSky’s supercomputer(s). [2]

Since the game experience (and other types of software) are run on LiquidSky’s remote supercomputer(s), either on a web browser or, on android devices, using LiquidSky's app, which was released in October 2014. Running games and programs through a web browser allows users to play games with high-end hardware requirements on any device, including low-end PCs, chromebooks, and netbooks. The company reached a milestone in the first quarter of 2015 in which a new client, built from the ground up, was released. A new version of the Android application running on the same new client software is expected to launch in the near future. [1]

Additionally, LiquidSky provides accelerated web browsing, where users browse the internet on and through LiquidSky’s supercomputer(s), and have the experience streamed to their local device. [2]

LiquidSky claims several notable distinguishing features as a cloud based computing platform:[2]

  • The ability to upload and install your own content for private use, making it an open platform
  • Games and programs run without having to be reprogrammed for use with LiquidSky
  • Access to LiquidSky's internet speeds and connection for gaming, applications, and web browsing

LiquidSky supports, or plans to support, Android, Windows, iOS, MacOS, Linux, Chromebook, Html5, Windows Phone, Raspberry Pi, as well as several Smart TV brands.[2]

The company also plans to release Skyscraper for business and educational customers in 2016. />
