Keisha Caine Bishop (born 1973) is an American former sprinter and mother of world 100 meters champion Noah Lyles. Running for the Seton Hall Pirates track and field program, she won two NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships relay titles in the 1990s. She is currently the president of The Lyles Brothers Sports Foundation and the CEO of Bishop Athletics Consulting.[2]

Caine has been featured in the TV series Untitled: The Noah Lyles Project on NBC and Sprint (TV series) on Netflix.[8][9]

Personal life

[edit]

Caine attended Woodrow Wilson High School (later renamed to Jackson-Reed High School) in Washington, D.C.. As a prep, she was a scholastic All-American. She committed to run for the Seton Hall Pirates track and field team. At Seton Hall, she majored in political science and worked towards a master's degree in public administration, aspiring to open a shelter for battered women.[7]

She met Kevin Lyles while they were both athletes at Seton Hall, and they married while they were still students in June 1995. According to the Asbury Park Press, Caine's first reaction to meeting Lyles was, "I'd never date this person". Then-Pirates coach John Moon said, "I can imagine how fast their offspring might be. And I'll be there, waiting to recruit them at Seton Hall".[4] While Lyles continued to run after college and eventually won an Olympic gold medal, Caine did not plan to continue her track and field career.[7]
