Reyna is a fictional character whom appears in Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series. She was first mentioned in The Lost Hero page 539 , "And Reyna. Definitely there'd been a girl named Reyna". However she makes her first full appearence in The Son of Neptune page 27.

Early Life

Reyna is a daughter of Bellona, the roman war goddess. Along with her sister Hylla, she lived as an attendant at Circe's spa. Four years before Percy Jackson appeared at Camp Jupiter, he had been on a quest alongside Annabeth Chase were he destroyed Circe's power and released the pirates Blackbeard and his crew from their prison where they were imprisoned as Guniea Pigs by Circe. Percy and Annabeth fled however the pirates took revenge on Circe and her attendants.

In page 322, Hylla explains to Percy that the pirates burned down the spa and that her and Reyna were taken as prisoners for months. She also explains that since they were daughters of Bellona, they managed to learn to fight quickly. The pirates had then respected them and they sailed to California were Hylla and Reyna parted ways. Hylla joined the Amazons and Reyna joined Camp Jupiter.

Appearance

When Percy first sees Reyna, she is described by saying, "She was obviously a leader. She wore a regal purple cloak over her armour. Her chest was decorated with medals. She must have been about Percy's age, with dark, piercing eyes and long black hair. Percy didn't recognize her, but the girl stared at him asif she had seen him in her nightmares".

On her forearm, Reyna has "SPQR" with a crossed sword and torch under it and four parallel lines under that. This tattoo is given after one full year of service at Camp Jupiter. The SPQR represents Senatus Populusque Romanus which mean "The senate and people of Rome" in english transalation. The crossed sword and torch symbolize Bellona, her godly parent and the four parallel lines symbolize the years of service at Camp Jupiter, which in this case is four years.

Relationships

As a daughter of Bellona, Reyna is related to all children of Bellona whom would be her half-siblings. One sibling that we know of is Hylla who is described as "an older-version of Reyna". Before his dissappearence, Jason Grace was Reyna's partner as Praetor. She explains to Percy Jackson that she was not romantically involved with Jason however, if they had more time, it would have been possible. At the end of The Lost Hero, Jason starts to remember Reyna, "And Reyna. Definitely there'd been a girl named Reyna". This shows that Jason possibly felt romantically attracted to Reyna. However, when Rick Riordan reveals a chapter of The Mark of Athena, he explains that Jason and Piper McLean were dating which shows that Jason chooses Piper over Reyna.

Camp Jupiter

In Camp Jupiter, Reyna possesses the rank of Praetor. She introduces herself to Percy by saying, "I'm Reyna, Praetor of the Twelfth Legion". Reyna is the only one in Camp Jupiter whom possesses a Pegasus, skipio. It is said that Pegasi are only given to those with a higher rank. Her weapon is a dagger made from imperial gold.
