About Me

[edit]

I started playing soccer at the age of five and used to play for teams like Rush, Gala FC, and Real España. Soccer or as other people call it, football has a long history, and its current form dates back to the mid-19th century in England. [1] I was born in Arizona but have lived in Washington State since the age of three. When I was seven my father bought me a Labrador Retriever, but we gave him to my uncle who needed a guard dog for his animals on the farm he maintains. However, when I was fourteen, we ended up acquiring two Shih Tzu/ Maltese mixed puppies named Choji and Maru after the famous Choji Akimichi and Shikamaru Nara from the anime Naruto.

My Wikipedia Interests

[edit]

I started learning more about editing Wikipedia after my first two weeks in English 101 and have only edited the article on Joao Felix after his recent transfer to a new team. The article got almost 69,000 views in the first 24 hours after my edit. I know a lot about soccer players, even the lesser-known ones. Soon, I would like to edit some of the smaller soccer player articles because I have been going on some of them and there isn't enough information for some of the good lesser-known players.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

Cobra Kai has been my favorite show on Netflix since the season 3 release on January 1, 2021. I've always liked watching real martial arts like boxing, mixed martial arts, and kickboxing so I was immediately intrigued when starting to watch Cobra Kai which is about karate. I wanted to learn even more about the show so I visited the Cobra Kai article on Wikipedia and found three aspects worth commenting on citations, age, and completeness.

Citations

[edit]

Yes, there are many citations throughout the article, however, there are some facts in the article that don't have citations. In the second paragraph when the article talks about the release dates and changing from YouTube Red/ Premium to Netflix, there are no citations. This could be knowledge from the writer of the post but does not become credible until it is cited. They could've added that YouTube was moving away from original programming and cited that to make it more credible when explaining how Cobra Kai was moved from YouTube to Netflix in 2020.

Age

[edit]

After the most recent season, season 5, released on September 9, 2022, they recently started releasing trailers for a new season 6 release in the next year. There aren't any mentions on the new season 6. I would assume they would have some news or theories of season 6 coming out until the season actually comes out.

Completeness

[edit]

When choosing my article I came across the Stranger Things article and noticed the article had a couple of sections that Cobra Kai did not. Cobra Kai had a couple of controversial parts in the show including where Johnny (William Kabka) made a comment that girls couldn't do what boys do. This could've been added in a controversial section like how Stranger Things has a controversial section on their Wikipedia page just so people know what they're going into when watching the Cobra Kai show.

Conclusion

[edit]

When reading the Cobra Kai Wikipedia article I noticed these were the biggest suggestions I could give. Putting more citations where they should be added, adding information on the new season coming soon, and adding a controversies page were all things I noticed that were off on the Cobra Kai Wikipedia page. After editing and adding these few things onto the page, it would for sure benefit Cobra Kai on their page.
