Overlapping templates

There are currently 3 different templates that overlap one another:

• {{Holy Roman Emperors}}
• {{German Empire 1871-1918}}
• {{German monarchs}}

German Union and (First) Empire

Do the catergories German Union and German Empire (the first appearance that is) really need to be in the template. As far as I can tell they serve no real purpose. The Quill (talk) 18:57, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
