Confused?????

How can he be the Third Hokage, if there was already a Fourth Hokage? and it the Fourth Hokage died before the THird hokage came, doesnt that make the Fourth Hokage third, and the THird Hokage Fourth? He became the Third Hokage. After a while, he retired. The Fourth became the new Hokage. He died during the fight against the Kyubi. The Third became Hokage again. I can't explain it any better. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs)

I Understand now. The Third Hokage retired, and let that guy be the Fourth Hokage. When the Fourth Died, The Third came Back, so it is like a mix-up between Hokages. -- User: Dark Zatch IIDark Zatch II

When the Fourth Hokage was killed by the Kyubi, the retired Third Hokage came back into place. For some reason, his title didn't change to "The Fifth Hokage". he's dead, how can he have a current affiliation? how can he have a current rank for that matter?

Everyone has a affilation regardless of their status, case in point the deceased Zabuza is still a part of the "Seven Swordsmen of the Mist".

Son/Daughter

I was thinking that we need to add under relatives that he has another, as of yet unnamed, son or daughter. Asuma is Konohamaru's uncle, which means he still has a mom or dad.Lascoden 02:42, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Current Arc

During the 344th chapter of the manga Sarutobi makes an appearance in the flash back, talking with Orochimaru as a child at the grave of his parents. I think that is important and should be added to the article, but where should it be placed? Should it get its own section or be put into the Background section?Mrcongojack 03:31, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

As to that, nobody can say with any degree of accuracy. Possibly Kakashi meant for that specific mission, possibly he didn't mean it to apply to students and their teachers. It's all speculation though. Retlor 08:06, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

well if you think about it two hokages even if that was a disadvantage to them they were still stronger

Maybe at the time they had two senseis it could have been to there advantig at the time. Maybe one would take them one day and teach them somthing and then the other sensei would take them the next to teach something else or somthing like that.Smileyface 12 91 13:36, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Naruto Shippūden: Narutimate Accel lists the Hokage's given name as Sasuke. This would make sense, given that he is based on Sarutobi Sasuke. Would this be worth adding? Alexpt 18:31, 13 May 2007 (UTC) no thats a mistake

Masashi Kishimoto originally planned for the Third Hokage to be a dog, but eventually dumped the idea for being "too weird".

I'm sorry, but this whole [potentially controversial] statement will have to be deleted if it is going to remain unsourced. Further, it appears to be a questionable Internet declaration, I can't find any official website confirming it. I'll be nice and give it a week or two to be sourced, if by that time the sentence is still uncited after two weeks, it'll be removed per being an indefinite citation.
