Proposed merger

[edit]

The Rayman 2: Revolution article is mostly a duplicate of this one and it doesn't assert that's the ggame is changed a great deal. Shouldn't these be a single article? Ace of Sevens 02:01, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed! I saw this only today. Suggestion: Merge the Revolution article into the article 'Rayman 2'. Marminnetje 15:59, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'''NO''' absolutely not they are both different in many ways and just because they are both Rayman 2 doesnt mean that they should both merge The Great Escape and Revolution are different SO THERE --Yaixi 01:04, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How? The Revolution page describes a few minor enhanhancements and level revisions and doesn't mention anything except the sprites objects now being 3D. These merit mention in this article, but ports typically aren't given separate pages unless they are more or less a whole new game. The changes to somethign like Return to Castle Wolfenstein are much bigger, but the Xbox and PS2 verssions still share a page with the PC version. Ace of Sevens 04:25, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, note that Rayman 2 is technically an enhanced remake, and not just a direct port. Also, there are a lot of articles on enhanced remakes that currently exist, even if the changes to the new game may be considered somewhat minor (such as added features or updated graphics). For example: Donkey Kong Classics, Duke Nukem Advance, Kaettekita Mario Bros., Super Mario All-Stars, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Conker: Live & Reloaded, Lode Runner: The Legend Returns, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, Mother 1 + 2, Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, Final Fantasy Origins, Super Mario Advance, Diddy Kong Racing DS, Super Mario Advance 2, Super Mario Advance 3, BS Zelda, Metroid: Zero Mission, Sword of Mana, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis, BS The Legend of Zelda: Kodai no Sekiban, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords, BS F-Zero, Frogger 3D, Earthworm Jim PSP, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All, The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, Super Mario Advance 4, and Super Mario 64 DS all have been given their own articles. --TBCTaLk?!? 18:00, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Most of those only have their own articles because they were part of a collection. Some, such as Duke Nukem Advance are not remakes at all, but brand new games. Master Quest was an expansion, not a remake. That doesn't really address the question, though. What makes it an enhanced remake as opposed to a spiffed-up port? 'Merge' The article does not add much to what is already in the Rayman 2 article. --Zooba 11:41, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose... they're quite different in fact (try playing both of them if you need proof ;)) 80.41.244.234 14:57, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Support If the most significant difference is that the 2D objects were now in 3D, then this definitely should go in the same article with the vanilla version. --Mika1h 23:46, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Support If it's just a minor upgrade, a paragraph or two should be enough to explain the differences. -Stormwatch 01:52, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I just need to know where the mines are, the mountain or the island? I'm just trying to add to the stage description, and I hope you don't mind that thing with the squirrel SPA...Killbrain1 21:11, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
