GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
Lead needs to adequately summarise article per WP:LEAD.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
Citations to reliable sources, no problems.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Stays focussed. I can't think of anything missing, and the sources I looked at don't show any major omissions here.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
    No issues.
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Images are free with appropriate licenses & information. They have appropriate captions.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

Lead

History

  • "Sir Horace Mann was a friend and long-time correspondent with Horace Walpole." - perhaps "Sir Horace Mann was a friend and long-time correspondent of Horace Walpole."?

Buildings

Park

Access

  • Just a suggestion, not a requirement, but this would perhaps be better merged into the former section, if it's never going to be longer than a sentence. It seems like it would fit.

No links to disambiguation pages. External links all look like they're working. Spot checks of sources I can access show no problems with WP:V or plagiarism/copyvio.

Nice work, I enjoyed reading this. No real issues holding back promotion other than the expansion of the lead. I'll put it on hold.--BelovedFreak 20:35, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad you liked it. I'm working my way through writing articles on all of the Grade I listed buildings in the borough of Maidstone.--DavidCane (talk) 02:27, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for making those changes. I'm happy to list it as a good article, well done! (Look forward to seeing more of the same...) --BelovedFreak 10:34, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
