Please provide a source for the 3 new deaths

[edit]

That is all. NesserWiki (talk) 07:49, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize, I did a bad job explaining a previous edit. That led someone to think the death was 47.
I once again apologize for the confusion this caused. NesserWiki (talk) 07:53, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Barbados fishing fleet decimated - source provided

[edit]

90% of Barbados' fishing fleet is either damaged or destroyed. In addition, the article highlights more details on Beryl's impacts in the area.

Failed verification

[edit]

Hey Quake1234, I noticed you reverted the death toll for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines from 8 back to 11. You removed a few sources with that change as well, but still left one in place. I went to do some verification checks and that source, the one you added, directly stated Saint Vincent and the Grenadines had 3 deaths, not 11. I went ahead and added a failed verification template next to that. Can you double check to make sure you listed the source you wanted to? Also, I am only aware of 8 deaths, not 11, so I am curious what the source is as well. Either way, it isn't the one currently listed, so it needs to be corrected. Cheers! Question regarding people in shelters

[edit]

Do numbers of people evacuated to (seeking safety in) shelters belong in the preparations section or in the impact section? Right now some are noted in one while some are noted in the other. Drdpw (talk) 21:18, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Drdpw When I was editing the article I put all of those numbers into preparations. My logic behind it was: one, (a bit hard to explain) but if the hurricane hadn't hit the islands, or the forecasts messed up the intensity, people would have still been sheltered; two, it was just how the article was formatted before I added the numbers for other nations. ✶Quxyz 19:33, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Before the storm fades from memory too much...

[edit]

Now that Beryl has its place in history, it has been added to List of Category 5 Atlantic hurricanes, List of Barbados hurricanes, List_of_Jamaica_hurricanes#2000–2024, List_of_Texas_hurricanes_(1980–present)#2020–present, and List of Cayman Islands hurricanes. I have to thank all of the editors who've worked on the article and kept it up to date. I think this is one of the better articles for a recent significant hurricane. That could be because the editor energy went into adding content to the article that wasn't just keeping the met history up to date. The main thing to look out for now is the recovery/aftermath, which is where most current-ish storms tend to fall short long term. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:16, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
