"citing her support of Ajit Pai's telecom policies (which had been rolled back by the Trump administration)" ... Um, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajit_Pai was Trump's FCC chair. If she was being criticized by Republicans, it wasn't because she favored Pai's policies. Perhaps the editor who inserted this text meant Tom Wheeler, the previous FCC Chair. Further, it was lack of support from Democrats in the Senate that sunk her nomination, not just Republicans. Democrats had control of the Senate.
