Weasel?

Looks like a kangaroo to me. Big feet, bounces on his long, tapering tail, wears an Australian hat. If nobody objects, might I change that odd 'wolf/weasel' bit?

I'd say remove any reference to him being a wolf, sure, but don't throw in anything suggesting he's a kangaroo or even resembles one. The character's official name was Nack the Weasel, so that's the animal we must assume he is. --L T Dangerous 13:52, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

In America that's his name, but even that was abandoned after his first appearance. American games returned to his canonical name, Fang the Sniper. Sniper isn't an animal, and it's quite clear he's a kangaroo.. Damn, where's Yuji Naka when you need him?

Fang's profile on Sonic Central lists him as being a weasel-wolf hybrid. Kangaroo? Geez.

If Fang still has a character profile on the Sonic Central website, does that mean he might return? And you said he could make a return because Shadow has a gun. I hope he does come back.(Fang is actually a jerboa)

The original creator said he had a jerboa motif in mind (a somewhat popular pet in Japan. or at least nobody else keeps them as pets). Keep in mind a jerboa is easily confused with the kangaroo rat. I think it's safe to say he had Australia on the brain (rather than the north African deserts where jerboas live) given the "Crocodile Dundee" hat with the half-flipped-up brim and everything. Even if he wasn't meant to be a kangaroo, he was obviously meant to evoke one. That's probably as close to canonical truth as we're going to get. Pictures from Sonic Triple Trouble

Shouldn't we have pictures of Fang from Sonic triple trouble since that is the game where he actually has a significant role.

Clean-up

You know, this article is in need of major clean-up because:

• It does not have notes or references, and not enough external links. What especially need references are things like the rumor section.

• Some parts are not encyclopedic, such as saying he is "popular".

• Some parts of the article are too short.

I am going to try to fix some of these problems right now. If I find it too difficult, I'm gonna put a clean-up tag on this article. I would prefer it if other Wikipedians help! --71.104.188.207 06:40, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I fixed up two of the problems somewhat, but the biggie one is still the reference thing. Oh, yeah, the pictures need more info, such as which website it came from or where did it come from (i.e. was it scanned from issue #? or a screenshot of some game?)? Pure wolf in Japan?

Could someone could explain the origins of this claim? It was initially from Japanese information that I learned Fang even had the "half-wolf, half-weasel" element several years back, so this one's kind of throwing me for a loop. --Matt S. 17:08, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Anti-Hero ?

Shouldn't this guy be moved to Anti-Heroes in the character section on the Sonic main page ? I'm not sure how evil he is, but I don't think he's THAT bad.

I wouldn't really call Fang a villain, he would be neutral really. While he is motivated by greed, nothing he does is truly evil. He isn't a killer(that said, death was something that wasn't mentioned back in the Sonic games of that era). He doesn't have plans for meglomania(Eggman), omnipotence(Black Doom possibly could fit this catagory), revenge(Metal Sonic) or the end of time(Mephiles) like the other major villians do.Michael Mad 19:59, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
