Donkey Kong Senior starred in the Donkey Kong Country games and in Donkey Kong 64 as Cranky Kong. The Donkey Kong in DKC and DK64 was formerly Donkey Kong Junior. I know this because Cranky Kong stated in the DK64 instructions that Donkey Kong is his son.

Oi. Miyamoto vs. Rare. Miyamoto never confirms this, yet when Rare says it, it's fact, period? Miyamoto never even knew they changed Princess Peach's name to Princess Toadstool in America, and when he found out, he was mighty pissed. What makes you think Miyamoto even approves of this idea?

Why the Hell does Miyamoto have to agree with everythign that happens? He didn't like the Super Mario Land series, but yet we still have Daisy and Wario.

Maybe he didn't like how the SML games were designed. He never said he disliked Wario. And since he DID create Donkey Kong, why isn't it his right to decide this? Even NINTENDO hasn't agreed. -- A Link to the Past 05:23, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

If the original DK was cranky kong, than many years would have had to have passed since than to make him the old ape he is now.If this happened than mario would be an old man too.

This article is completely biased against Rare's explanations. All it is is "blah blah blah Nintendo is right and nothing changes that." It could at least be re-worded so it doesn't sound like a whiny 12-year-old Miyamoto worshipper.--Bottles98 06:39, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That section sounds like someone arguing with themself. It really needs to be reworded. Until we know the absolute true answer, let's present both sides of the argument in a fair way, and not this "blah blahy blah, however, blah blah blah, except that blah blah blah, but then blah blah blah". It sounds pretty ridiculous. Xubelox 21:42, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well seeing as how Rare made the Donkey Kong Country games, where the Donkey Kong we know and love primarily comes from, I'd say what Rare says is valid. Thus, the current Donkey Kong (the guy with the tie, and the protagonist of the DKC games), is in fact Donkey Kong Jr.

And one can easily argue that because Nintendo has complete control over the series, and Rare no longer works on the DK series, or barely with Nintendo at all, what Nintendo says is more valid. Thus, what you say is not fact, and is theory. Anyway, I altered it considerably in a way that doesn't sound like a person arguing with themself. Xubelox 00:29, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whether or not it's true, it's still sparked controversy. Perhaps we could add both sides of the argument and mention that it has never been mutually confirmed which side is right. 66.167.140.112 02:21, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
