Notability

[edit]

My argument for notability is that there are more than three articles party dedicated to the engine and it's resulting modding capabilities. Particularly, the Inverse source discusses the engine beyond the scope of any individual game, tying the development of the engine across multiple games and series to Larian's success as a whole. Additionally, it makes sense for the engine to be discussed in Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios, Divinity: Original Sin, Divinity: Original Sin II and perhaps Divinity_(series). It doesn't make sense to fully expound on what the engine is in each of these pages, however. And Infobox: Video Game has a field for "Engine" which would be weird to have no other information on. What good is it to know that Baldur's Gate 3 was made with the divinity engine if I don't know what that is? I might not even know about the Divinity series and not connect that the name implies that Larian develop the engine. By creating a page for the engine it makes it easier to link it in other places like Category:Divinity Engine games which can then by put into Category:Video games by game engine etc. Lastly, the full engine was shipped as "DivinityEngine2.exe" with Divinity: Original Sin II, meaning that exists as a standalone program that anyone can use so it can't be called just an in-house development tool with no outside-facing relevance (beyond the points mentioned above).
