In March 2023, he earned his maiden call-up to the Bangladesh cricket team for their T20I series against Ireland.[9] He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Bangladesh, on 31 March 2023, against Ireland.[10] His first scoring shot in international cricket was a six which he scored on his T20I debut off the third delivery he faced.

In December 2023, he was named in Bangladesh's squad for their white-ball tour to New Zealand.[11] He made his One Day International (ODI) debut on 20 December 2023[12] where he smashed a six off the very first delivery, only the second[a] Bangladeshi player to do so, coming into bat at number nine position.[13]

In February 2024, he was named in Bangladesh's limited overs squad for their series against Sri Lanka.[14] During the 3rd T20I, he claimed his maiden half-century in T20I cricket, scoring 53 runs off 30 balls[15]with 7 sixes, the most by a Bangladeshi batter in T20Is.[16]

In May 2024, he was named in Bangladesh's squad for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament.[17] He picked 14 wickets from 7 matches to set the record of most wickets by a Bangladeshi bowler in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.[18]
