Draft issues

[edit]
  1. The subsection labelled "Republic of Ireland vs United Kingdom" is problematic; the "Republic of" Ireland has never officially fought a war against the United Kingdom, partially because the date of the foundation of the Republic is highly contested. Some people are of the view that the Republic of Ireland was not a legal entity until The Republic of Ireland Act 1948.
  2. Listing the Irish Civil War as "Ireland vs the UK" is highly contentious
  3. Listing the Northern Campaign, the Border Campaign or The Troubles as "Ireland vs the UK" is simply incorrect. It was the IRA, an Irish organisation, not Ireland the state involved in those conflicts.
  4. Another issue is that this draft article is almost identical to List of Irish uprisings; the wisdom of having two separate, near-identical articles is questionable

If I was someone reviewing this draft I'd be highly cautious about approving it CeltBrowne (talk) 17:49, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Alright, I'll try and change the heading to something more appropriate
  2. There's a reason why it's listed as an "Internal conflict".
  3. So should I include them, should I put them in a See also section, or what do I do exactly?
  4. Sure that's true, although there are some differences and I feel like this article is more organised/informative.
