Hard category, no redirect template

[edit]

There is no redirect template for this category. It has been populated using code [[Category:Redirects from writers]] --primarily by its creator in order to cover all winners of the Canadian Edna Staebler Award for Creative Non-Fiction.

That is no longer true. We have the redirect template {{R from writer}} and the category may be largely populated by "This is a redirect", commonly in the form {{Redr|from writer [...]}}. --P64 (talk) 18:03, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

From creator to work?

[edit]

Perhaps this should be used in the broad sense of Author, which is one of its main articles. Regarding books that would cover illustrators and some editors as well as writers, which the pagename 'Redirects from writers' now specifies.

Perhaps it should be used specifically for redirects to articles about one of the person's creative works. Regarding books those would be book and book series articles.

There has been some discussion of redirects to works --from people who create them or from characters who appear in them. At least, one location is Wikipedia talk:Template messages/Redirect pages, where the focus is redirect templates such as {R to work}, {CharR to work}, etc, and {R from creator}, {R from writer}, etc --none of which currently exist.

Now I am using this category for some writer-to-work and illustrator-to-work redirects. So far two in number. One work is a book, the other a book series.

Since then I have created --or classified and expanded-- some more redirects from authors (writers/illustrators) to works (book/series, comic, etc), at least these: Susan Meddaugh (one name i recognize)
Jennifer A. Nielsen, Tom Siddell (two last hour)
