The Haunted House, also known as Shinbi Apartment (Korean: 신비아파트; RR: Sinbi Apateu), is a South Korean animated television series created by Seok Jong-seo that premiered on Tooniverse on July 20, 2016. The series focuses on Shinbi and their friends to stop ghosts from attacking other people and saving the world.

Popularity

The series had received high TV rating percentage. According to Nielsen Korea, Birth of Ghost Ball X averaged viewers, with 10% for episode 8.[1] The second part was 7.269% for episode 21, 47.1% for episode 22, and 4.341% for episode 23 with viewers.[2] Ghost Ball Double X received 8.44% in the 1 episode, 10.72% in the 2 episode,[3] 8.04% in the 10 episode and 10.20% in the 13 episode for viewers.[4] Ghost Ball Z receives for 4.86% in the 1 episode, 50.2% I the 7 episode,[5] and the second part received 4.9% in the 1 episodes for viewers.[6]

The first film titled The Haunted House: The Secret of the Cave directed by Kim Byung-gab and was released on July 25, 2018.[7][8]

The second film titled The Haunted House: The Sky Goblin VS Jormungandr directed by Byeon Young-Kyu and was released on December 19, 2019.[9]

The third film titled The Haunted House: The Dimensional Goblin and the Seven Worlds directed by Byeon Young-Kyu once again and was released on December 14, 2022.[10][11]

The fourth film was announced as the fifth season would be a special film, titled The Haunted House Special: Red Eyed Reaper directed by Park Hong-geun and this film will be released on August 14, 2024, exclusively on CGV.[12]

Specials

The series was confirmed to be streamed on TVING in 2021 as a special episodes, titled The Haunted House Special Edition: The Vampire of Light and the Child of Darkness was released on December 22, 2021.[13]

The second special episode, titled The Haunted House Special Edition: Joseon Exorcism Annals was released on July 14 to 21, 2023, total 4 episodes in half[14]

Live-action

A live-action is based on the series, titled Remember, Hari premiered on Tooniverse on August 2 to September 7, 2018, in the first season with 12 episodes.[15][16] The second season aired on February 15 to April 5, 2019 in 8 episodes.[17][18]

The second series titled Hearts and Hari aired from January 17 to March 21, 2020 with 12 episodes.[19]

Video games

The mobile simulation game titled Ghost Signal was released on December 12, 2019, on Android and January 9, 2020, on iOS, published by RHAON.[20][21]

The mobile RPG video game of The Haunted House: Soul Fighters (신비아파트: 소울파이터즈) was released on April 7, 2020, on Android, published by Move Interactive.[22]

The mobile video game of Archer Kang-lim (궁수강림: 6개의 예언) was released on May 5, 2020, on Android and iOS.[23] and Time Zero (타임제로) was released on March 25, 2023, on Android and iOS, both published by 3F Factory.[24]
