If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Fatimah bint Musa (currently a redirect to Fatima bint Musa) → Fatima bint Musa (move · discuss) – To match the recent move Fatimah --> Fatima, which is the shorter and more modern transliteration of the Arabic name (فاطمة). Albertatiran (talk) 08:53, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
Contested technical requests
- Arunachal Pradesh Statehood Day (currently a redirect to Arunachal Pradesh Day) → Arunachal Pradesh Day (move · discuss) – WP:CONSISTENT with other articles of statehood days in India. — Hemant Dabral (📞 • ✒) 19:36, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- Google search results and the sources located at the article show that the WP:COMMONNAME is Arunachal Pradesh Statehood Day. MaterialWorks (contribs) 20:14, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- Resident Evil 2 → Resident Evil 2 (1998 video game) (currently a redirect back to Resident Evil 2) (move · discuss) – See Sonic the Hedgehog (1991 video game) and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006 video game) for precedent. 100.7.44.80 (talk) 22:02, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- Until there is an article to occupy this space there is no need to disambiguate any further per WP:PRECISE McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 23:01, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- Resident Evil 4 → Resident Evil 4 (2005 video game) (currently a redirect back to Resident Evil 4) (move · discuss) – See Sonic the Hedgehog (1991 video game) and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006 video game) for precedent. 100.7.44.80 (talk) 22:02, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

- There is an article, that being Resident Evil 4 (2023 video game).--65.93.193.94 (talk) 02:17, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- But for Sonic, the base article is Sonic the Hedgehog, so this is not exactly the same situation. Resident Evil 4 seems to be the primary topic for this name, so I oppose this move unless there is evidence there is a need to turn Resident Evil 4 into a dab page. -Kj cheetham (talk) 10:21, 21 April 2023 (UTC)

- Ramot, Jerusalem (currently a redirect to Ramot, East Jerusalem) → Ramot (currently a redirect instead to Ramot, East Jerusalem) (move · discuss) – No reason for geographical disambiguation as the only page with its base name Iskandar323 (talk) 13:31, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- That's not the only page with that base name. There is also Ramot, Golan Heights, which is also the reason the page was moved from Ramot to Ramot, Jerusalem in the first place. MaterialWorks (contribs) 13:44, 21 April 2023 (UTC)

- Aldol reaction → Aldol addition (currently a redirect back to Aldol reaction) (move · discuss) – Confusion issue. Aldol reaction (singular) refers to Aldol additions in English. While in other languages its referring to the general set of reactions. So for German Wikipedian chemists (which is fairly common within Wikipedia chemistry) it caused some editing mistakes. The majority of the page is about aldol addition, but there were some sections about the overall pair of reaction which have since been moved to Aldol reactions. I've done the necessary redirect cleanup work to make the rename possible. LoomCreek (talk) 23:56, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- If done, this should use lowercase "addition". — BarrelProof (talk) 05:42, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- LoomCreek, as BarrelProof said, this should be sentance case, but is there anything stopping you doing the move yourself? -Kj cheetham (talk) 10:18, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- Kj cheetham, Yes because it's a former GA, it still has move protection that was never removed. I understand it should be "Aldol addition" but due to some redirects I need to use uppercase before I can initiate a swap between "Aldol addition" & "Aldol Addition". — Preceding unsigned comment added by LoomCreek (talk • contribs) 14:39, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- I've moved this to the "admin needed" section. I'll be requesting a reduction in move protection soon. SkyWarrior 14:44, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- LoomCreek An admin will process it shortly due to the move protection. For the record, I'm also noting Talk:Aldol reaction#Mistake in translation (Aldol reaction vs. reactions) (but I'm not contesting it). It can go straight to the sentance case, there is no need to go via an upper case name. -Kj cheetham (talk) 14:47, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- Kj cheetham, Okay thank you I very much appreciate it.
