New page reviewer

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights As an active and dedicated member of the Wikipedia community, I believe that I possess the necessary skills and knowledge to use these tools effectively. Firstly, I am up to date with the deletion policies on Wikipedia, including speedy deletion, PROD, and deletion discussion. I understand the differences between these policies and can apply them appropriately when reviewing new pages. This knowledge allows me to make informed decisions about whether a page should be deleted or not, based on its content and compliance with Wikipedia's guidelines. I have a lot of experiene using WikiHow and I am a featured author on there.

Furthermore, I have prior experience with page curation before the tool was limited, and I found it to be a rewarding and enjoyable task. I was able to use the tool effectively to identify and address issues with new pages, such as incomplete sourcing or lack of notability. I believe that my prior experience in page curation makes me well-suited for the task of patrolling new pages.

I am committed to contributing to Wikipedia and ensuring that its content remains accurate, reliable, and up-to-date. I believe that by granting me the right to patrol new pages, I can make a positive impact on the Wikipedia community. I am willing to put in the time and effort required to effectively patrol new pages and ensure that they meet Wikipedia's guidelines.

I understand if you wish to grant these permissions on a temporary basis initially and would welcome that. MrBauer24 (talk) 18:43, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done You don't have a track record in deletion yet; you only have handful of deleted edits in total. You also don't meet the prerequisite edit count. I could overlook one or the other but not both. If new page patrolling is something you're interested in, I'd suggest enrolling at NPP school. Alternatively, you don't need any special rights to view Special:NewPages, which you can use to find new articles with very obvious problems or which need just a little bit of attention (eg stub tags or wikiproject tags, categories, formatting, etc) and you could use that to establish more of a track record for your next application. I have been on Wikipedia for a year and a half, having made over 1000 mainspace edits. I have never had any problems communicating with other editors and have never been banned or blocked from editing any pages. The reason I would like to be a new article reviewer is because of how many draft articles are on Wikipedia, it takes months for all of them to be reviewed, which can also be incredibly frustrating for a user, and will often lead to them avoiding the draft process entirely. Since I have so much spare time, I might as well put some of it aside to help lower the number and contribute to Wikipedia in a more meaningful way as just creating and editing articles relating to my own niche interests.  Not done. I appreciate your willingness to help, but this isn't the right for reviewing drafts; this one is for reviewing new articles, which potentially includes moving them to draft space but also involves making decisions about what can be salvaged and what needs to be deleted and (if deletion is necessary) which deletion process to use. If that's something you're interested in, maybe participate a bit at WP:AFD, or look at random articles and find some that need attention, or you could enrol at NPP school to go through a structured course with an experienced reviewer. Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights
A while back, I made a request for this role, but at that time, I wasn't familiar with Twinkle. However, I have been contributing to the English Wikipedia for around 2 years and have been using Twinkle to review new pages. So far, I haven't encountered any issues with the pages I've reviewed. I am seeking this role to offer additional assistance when required. I want to mention that my account has never been blocked. I commit to following Wikipedia policies while utilizing this role and tool. Thank you. Endrabcwizart (talk) 04:34, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Your last request was declined just nine days ago. You can't have gained enough experience in such a short period of time to assuage my concerns from last week. If you want to be involved in new page reviewing, I recommend NPP school but I would suggest leaving it at least a month before re-applying for this right. If you're looking for a good task to gain some more experience, you might like to try recent changes patrol; the bar to gain pending changes reviewer or rollback rights for that is a little bit lower than for NPP. Hey! I think I meet the guidelines of becoming a New Page Reviwer. I do have experience in all three deletion areas. I've been on Wikipedia for 2 and a half years, and over 14,000 edits to Wikipedia since then. I have also familiarized myself with Wikipedia:New pages patrol as well. A trial run would also be okay as well. Thanks! Tails Wx 22:54, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
