Brother Sir Patrick Joseph Lynch (KNZM (2015) and QSO (1991)) is a leading New Zealand educationalist. He is a religious brother of the De La Salle Order[1] He was President of the Secondary Principles Association of New Zealand from 1992 until 1994, Headmaster of De La Salle College, Mangere East from 1978 until 1994 and then chief executive of the New Zealand Catholic Education Office from 1994 until 2015.[2] Around 86,000 students were enrolled in Catholic integrated schools in 2015, or just under 10 percent of all students in the New Zealand school system.[3] In 2015 he was made a knight of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to education.[4]
