The Arco Británico.

TheArco Británico (Spanish for British Arch) is a monument located in the Avenida Brasil, in the plan of the city of Valparaíso. It was donated in the year 1910 by the British colony living in Valparaiso on the occasion of Centennial of Independence of Chile and was opened in year 1911. Its work by the French architect Alfredo Azancot.

The monument, covered in marble brought from Italy, presented in its upper part a British Victorian lion and is covered with medallions bearing the images of Thomas Cochrane Bernardo O'Higgins Robert Simpson and Jorge O'Brien. Britons who participated in the War of the Independence of Chile. It also presents the Chilean and United Kingdom coat of arms.

In 1968 was visited by the Queen Elizabeth II in framework of his official visit to Chile, as well as by the Prince Charles in 2009.
