The 2023 League of Legends World Championship is an upcoming esports tournament for the multiplayer online battle arena video game League of Legends. It is the thirteenth iteration of the League of Legends World Championship, an annual international tournament organized by the game's developer, Riot Games. The tournament will be held from October 10 to November 19 in South Korea.[1] Twenty-two teams from 9 regions qualified for the tournament based on their placement in regional circuits such as those in China, Europe, North America, South Korea, Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau/Southeast Asia and Vietnam, with eight of those teams having to reach the main event via a play-in stage.[2]
"Gods" (stylized in all caps) was announced as the tournament's theme song, performed by NewJeans.[3][4]
DRX were the defending champions,[5] but failed to qualify for the event after losing to Dplus KIA in the 2023 LCK Regional Finals.[6][7]
