Should the infobox for this article use the cover art of the original game or the remake version? For context, the original version is a Japan-exclusive release, while the remake is localized for an international release. The title of the remake is also currently used for the article. Infobox cover art

@Spiralthebandicoot Regarding the infobox cover art, this is my rationale for using the remake's art over the original. Using WP:VGBOX as reference here:

  • "English-language art is preferred for identification". The remake's cover art should suffice in this case.
  • "The identifying art should be from the game's original release.[...]Exceptions can be made when a later release was significantly more notable than an earlier release." In this case, wouldn't the remake be a more significantly notable release than the original, given that it is available internationally? Thus, an exception can be made here in favor of the remake's cover art over the original.

Hopefully we can discuss and come to an agreement on this. The boss 1904 (talk) 10:14, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note that the internationally released version is a REMAKE of the game, not the original game; the infobox cover art should be from the original game, not any remake/remaster of the game. The remake is a different entity from the original game. STB (talk) 10:42, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but the article is currently for both versions, and the title of the remake is being used for the article. In this case, wouldn't it make more sense that the remake's cover art is better for identifying the game which the article is named after?
While the remake is a different entity, it currently does not have its own page, and I don't think there's enough content to warrant making a separate article. And unlike the other Yakuza remakes, other than gameplay changes, there are no major differences in terms of plot and main characters (other than recasts, which are already covered). As such, I believe using the original cover would no longer be suitable in representing the article. The boss 1904 (talk) 11:17, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

RfC: infobox cover art

Should the infobox for this article use the cover art of the original game or the remake version? For context, the original version is a Japan-exclusive release, while the remake is localized for an international release. The title of the remake is also currently used for the article.
