Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Temporary semi-protection

Reason: Edit warring (yes including me to restore the consensus version) in direct opposition to an RFC ([[1]]) despite a new RFC underway. Slatersteven (talk) 17:38, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) Slatersteven, presumably you instead intended to request ECP since the page in question is already semi-protected (the bot should've commented on this already but hasn't for some reason), also note, assuming my memory of the byzantine DS procedures is correct, since the existing protection was a DS any upgrade would also have to be done under DS unless Deepfriedokra agreed otherwise. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 13:41, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh sorry yes. Slatersteven (talk) 13:49, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
74.73.224.126, thanks for the note – just the part about discretionary sanctions appears is incorrect: Nothing (...) prevents an administrator from replacing an existing sanction issued by another administrator with a new sanction if fresh misconduct has taken place after the existing sanction was applied. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:39, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated vandalism from IP and non auto-confirmed editors. CurryTime7-24 (talk) 19:30, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Shortly after the last page protection expired IP vandalism returned, dunno if more elaborated actions could be taken, as it's clearly just one person doing most of the vandalism, and may be playing on both sides. Pob3qu3 (talk) 23:23, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Person recently died, an increase in vandalism in the main article and talk page. Nythar (talk) 01:22, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

comment Came here to request exactly this; recent spate of anon IP edits removing sourced information. JimKaatFan (talk) 14:00, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of offensive IP vandalism. – Rhain 06:08, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: I requested protection for this before and the vandalizing IPs were partially blocked, but more IPs are inserting the same vandalizing sentence into the lede of this article. Nythar (talk) 06:38, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Persistent IP vandalism. Please temporarily semi-protect the article. Nythar (talk) 06:39, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Vandalism 49.179.42.75 (talk) 06:51, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – Unsourced edits by IPs resumed immediately after the previous protection expired. Poor edits going unnoticed due to high edit rate. Ab207 (talk) 08:19, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Edit warring/socking by IPs and others (see hist). Article is covered under WP:ARBIPA and the disruptions date back to at least as far back as two years ago (see Talk). It is unlikely to subside anytime soon, a long-term semi is needed. Gotitbro (talk) 09:50, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism started as soon as the last PP expired, a longer one is required this time. Gotitbro (talk) 10:08, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Presumptive president-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reportedly called for the revision of history textbooks in the past, and now may have the power to do so and more within the next six years. Along with the rise of troll farms being used to spread misinformation and suppress certain historical facts on social media, and with the red-tagging of companies such as Adarna House for their sale of educational Martial Law-related books, it is possible that trolls may be sent to target and censor this article and others related to it in the name of removing what they perceive as "Anti-Marcos" text. It is extremely important to preserve every piece of Philippine history now more than ever. 112.201.162.95 (talk) 10:15, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DeclinedPages are not protected preemptively. El_C 11:00, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Anonymous users have been vandalising the page quite a lot recently so perhaps it should be protected for a little while. Blanchey (talk) 10:23, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Editor with a history of vandalism is adding content that we decided not to include via a talk page discussion – PeeJay 10:47, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Repeated personal attacks by sock IPs (this from today), previous ones are revdelled. Requesting semi-protection for a short while. — Golden call me maybe? 13:00, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of three days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Golden, if the problem persists, feel free to make another request here or with me directly. Chetsford (talk) 13:50, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
