Re: 2017–18 South-West Indian Ocean cyclone season

Hey there Noah! Yea, that seems like a fun article to do. I gotta be honest, between the Ukranian war and writing List of the deadliest tropical cyclones, I kinda lost a bit of energy toward editing about destructive things. But I've spent some time away from Wiki, took care of some personal needs, got some time outdoors, and I'm better now. The season looks pretty fun to write, especially since all of the sub-articles are done. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:19, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Merger closure/withdrawal

I am curious as to your decision to withdraw your proposed merger (sorry I’m not providing the link, it’s not convenient to do so on mobile; I’m sure you know which one I’m talking about). While you changing your stance would affect the consensus, once other people support your proposal, you can’t really just unilaterally end discussion by “withdrawing” it, and I myself had found a consensus to merge. Have your opinions on the matter changed? Apart from the withdrawal itself, you had given no indication of such, so the choice struck me as odd. It's more of neither I nor LightAndDark have the time to enact the changes for what a merge would entail (not a standard and simple merge). There's already enough project drama going on right now and I didn't want any more to occur. NoahTalk 10:15, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have a very low tolerance for people who think "falling on their sword" is anything other than a cop out—your retirement and comments here are rather daft.
